Understanding and Managing Your Privacy Settings
Review My Hinge provides several settings to help you control your privacy and how your information is used on the platform. You can typically find these options under Settings > Privacy & Security in the app.
Allow Anonymous Sharing of Your Review (for Users)
What it is
When submitting your profile for review, you may see an option to "Allow anonymous sharing of your review."
If Enabled
By enabling this, you give Review My Hinge and potentially the reviewer permission to use anonymized excerpts or insights from your review for educational content, marketing materials, or to showcase example reviews.
Your personal identifying information (name, specific photos unless heavily blurred/cropped with consent, direct contact details) will NOT be shared publicly. The focus is on the type of feedback given and profile improvements.
Benefit & Control
Benefit: Some reviewers may offer a discount on your next review with them if you enable this.
Control: This is an opt-in setting for each review submission.
Profile Visibility Settings
General User Account
You may have options to control the visibility of your general user profile information (e.g., if we introduce community features or public user profiles in the future). Check your 'Privacy & Security' settings for available controls.
Reviewer Profile Visibility (for Reviewers)
As a reviewer, you can set your profile to 'Active' or 'Inactive'. When inactive, your profile will not be visible in the marketplace, and you will not receive new review requests. This is managed in your 'Edit Reviewer Profile' settings.
Allow Comedic Roasts (for Users)
Some reviewers specialize in 'Roast Master' or comedic feedback. If you prefer not to receive this style of review, ensure you select reviewers or packages that align with a more standard critique. Some profiles might have a general setting to indicate your openness to different review styles.
Data Access and Deletion
You have the right to request access to your personal data or request the deletion of your account. Please refer to our 'How to Delete Your Account' article for more information.
Managing Third-Party Connections (Social Logins)
If you've connected your Review My Hinge account to Google or Apple for sign-in, you can typically manage these connections from within your Google or Apple account settings respectively.
