Troubleshooting Login and OTP Issues

Having trouble signing in or receiving your verification code? This guide provides common solutions for login and OTP-related problems.

Common Login Issues

Incorrect Email/Phone or Password

Double-check that you've entered your email address or phone number correctly.

If using a password, ensure it's typed accurately (passwords are case-sensitive).

If you've forgotten your password, use the 'Forgot Password?' link on the sign-in screen to reset it.

Account Not Found

If the system says your account doesn't exist, ensure you're using the email or phone number you originally signed up with.

Try alternative sign-in methods if you used Google or Apple Sign-In previously.

OTP (One-Time Password) Not Received

For Email OTPs

Check Spam/Junk Folder

Verification emails can sometimes be filtered into your spam or junk mail folders. Look for an email from notifications@reviewmyhinge.com (or similar) address.

Add to Safe Senders

Add our notification email address to your email client's safe sender list or contacts to prevent future filtering.

Wait a Few Minutes

Email delivery can sometimes be delayed. Please wait up to 5 minutes.

Check Email Address

Ensure the email address displayed on the OTP screen is correct. If not, go back and re-enter it.

Request Resend

If the code still hasn't arrived, use the 'Resend Code' option.

For Phone (SMS) OTPs

Check Phone Number

Verify that the phone number displayed on the OTP screen is correct.

Signal Strength

Ensure you have adequate cellular network coverage or a stable Wi-Fi connection if using Wi-Fi calling.

Airplane Mode

Make sure your phone is not in Airplane Mode.

Blocked Numbers

Check if you have inadvertently blocked messages from unknown numbers or shortcodes.

Wait a Few Minutes

SMS delivery can sometimes experience delays.

Request Resend

If the code hasn't arrived, use the 'Resend Code' option.

Invalid or Expired OTP Code

OTP codes are time-sensitive and typically expire within 5-10 minutes.

Ensure you are entering the most recent code you received. If you requested multiple codes, only the latest one will be valid.

Type the code carefully, ensuring all digits are correct.

If the code has expired or is consistently invalid, use the 'Resend Code' option to get a new one.

Too Many Resend Attempts

For security, there's a limit to how many OTPs can be requested within a certain period (e.g., per hour).

If you've requested too many codes, you may need to wait (e.g., 30-60 minutes) before trying again.

Social Login Issues (Google/Apple)

Ensure you are logged into the correct Google or Apple account on your device/browser.

Check your Google/Apple account for any security alerts or issues that might be preventing login.

Try restarting the app and attempting the social login again.

If the issue persists with a specific social login, try an alternative sign-in method (like email/phone if set up) or contact our support.
