Your Earnings: Wallet, Stripe Connect, and Withdrawals
This guide explains how your earnings are calculated on Review My Hinge, the importance of Stripe Connect for receiving payouts, and the process for withdrawing your funds.
The Reviewer Wallet
Accessing Your Wallet
You can find your Wallet in the main navigation tabs of the app (typically labeled 'Wallet').
Current Balance
Your wallet displays your Current Available Balance in USD. This is the amount you've earned from completed reviews after Review My Hinge's platform fee has been deducted, and it's ready for withdrawal (subject to Stripe Connect status).
Transaction History
The wallet also shows a history of your transactions, including:
Earnings: Payments credited to your account for each completed review.
Withdrawals: Funds you have successfully transferred to your bank account.
How Your Earnings Are Calculated
You Set Your Base Price
For each review package you offer (e.g., Basic Text Review, Video Review), you set your desired base price in dollars (e.g., $25.00).
Platform Fee
Review My Hinge applies a platform service fee, which is currently 20% of your base price.
Your Earning
Your earning for each review is 80% of your set base price.
User Price
Users see a final price that includes your base price plus our platform fee.
Example Calculation:

In-App Purchases Note
For In-App Purchases on iOS/Android, Apple/Google also add their commission on top of that, so the price the user pays in the app store will be higher, but your 80% earning is always calculated from your set base price.
Sharing Discounts (If Offered)
If you've enabled the "sharing discount" feature for users who allow anonymous sharing of their reviews, and a user redeems this credit on a future purchase from you, that discount amount is effectively deducted from your base price for that specific discounted review before your 80% earning is calculated.
Example: If your base price is $20 and you offer a $5 sharing discount, your earning on that discounted review would be 80% of ($20 - $5) = 80% of $15 = $12.
Stripe Connect: Essential for Payouts
What is Stripe Connect?
Stripe Connect is a secure payment platform used by Review My Hinge to transfer your earnings to your bank account.
Onboarding Process
To receive payouts, you must create and connect a Stripe Express account.
In the 'Wallet' tab, if you haven't connected Stripe, you'll see a "Connect Stripe" or "Complete Stripe Setup" button.
Clicking this will redirect you to Stripe's secure website to complete their onboarding process. You'll need to provide identity verification (KYC - Know Your Customer) information and your bank account details directly to Stripe.
Important: Review My Hinge does not see, store, or have access to your sensitive bank account or full tax identification details provided to Stripe.
Stripe Onboarding Status
Your wallet will show your Stripe onboarding status:
Not Started
You haven't begun the Stripe Connect process.
Pending/In Progress
Stripe is reviewing your information, or you have outstanding requirements. Check for emails from Stripe.
Completed/Ready for Withdrawals
Your Stripe account is fully set up and verified.
Failed/Restricted
There's an issue with your Stripe account that needs attention. Contact Stripe support.
Approval
Your Stripe account must be fully approved and verified by Stripe before payouts can be processed. This can sometimes take a few business days.
Withdrawing Your Earnings
Eligibility
You can initiate a withdrawal once:
Your Stripe Connect account is fully set up and in 'completed' status.
You have a positive available balance in your Review My Hinge wallet.
Your balance is at least $10.00 (minimum withdrawal amount).
How to Withdraw
Go to the 'Wallet' tab.
Click the 'Withdraw Funds' button (this button will only be active if you meet eligibility criteria).
Enter the amount (in USD) you wish to withdraw.
Confirm the withdrawal.
Processing & Timelines
Withdrawals are processed via Stripe and transferred to the bank account you linked in your Stripe Connect dashboard.
Payouts typically take 2-5 business days to appear in your bank account after initiation. This can vary depending on your bank's processing times and Stripe's schedules.
Troubleshooting Payouts & Stripe Issues
Onboarding Not Complete
Ensure your Stripe Connect account is fully verified. Check for any emails or notifications from Stripe requiring further action (e.g., uploading documents, verifying information).
Incorrect Bank Details
Log in to your Stripe Express dashboard (you'll receive a link from Stripe during onboarding) to double-check and update your bank account information if necessary.
Stripe Holds or Restrictions
Occasionally, Stripe may place holds or restrictions on accounts for security reviews or if further information is needed. You should contact Stripe support directly for such issues.
Review My Hinge Support
If you've confirmed your Stripe account is active and correct but are still having issues with withdrawals from your RMH Wallet, contact [email protected].
Taxes and Reporting
As an independent reviewer, you are solely responsible for reporting your earnings from Review My Hinge and paying any applicable income taxes in your jurisdiction.
Review My Hinge (via Stripe) may issue 1099 forms (e.g., 1099-K or 1099-NEC for US-based reviewers) or similar tax documentation if your earnings meet the legal reporting thresholds.
