You can manage your primary email address, phone number, and password from your account settings. These are crucial for account access and receiving important notifications.

How to Access Security Settings

Access Settings

Navigate to the 'Settings' tab in the app.

Privacy & Security

Select 'Privacy & Security' from the settings menu.

Select the credential type you want to update.

Complete verification via email or SMS as required.

What You Can Update

Updating Your Email Address

If you need to change the email address associated with your account, you can update it in the security settings.

A verification email will be sent to your new email address

You must click the link in that email to confirm the change

Your old email address will remain active for login until the new one is verified

Updating Your Phone Number

You can add or change your phone number for enhanced security and OTP verification.

A verification code (OTP) will be sent via SMS to the new phone number

You'll need to enter this code in the app to confirm the update

Ensure your phone can receive SMS messages from our service

Changing Your Password

If you've set a password for your account, you can change it for enhanced security.

Enter your new password and confirm it

Choose a strong, unique password that you don't use for other services

Use at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols

Passwordless Login (OTP)

Secure and Convenient

Review My Hinge primarily uses One-Time Passwords (OTPs) sent to your email or phone for secure login, reducing the need to remember a traditional password. However, you can set a password for convenience if you prefer.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Not Receiving Verification Email

Check your spam/junk folder and ensure the email address is correct.

SMS Not Arriving

Verify your phone number is correct and try requesting a resend after waiting.

Forgot Password

Use the 'Forgot Password?' link on the sign-in screen to reset it.

Account Locked

Contact support if you're unable to access your account after multiple attempts.

Security Best Practices

Use Strong Passwords: If you choose to set a password, make it at least 12 characters long with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
